13-week execution

The quarter has a record, not a memory.

Most planning tools stop the moment the plan is written. That is exactly where quarters are lost. Every commitment leaves session day with an owner, a definition of done, a due week, and a place on a thirteen-week grid.

The grid

Owners, weeks, and marks.

Each commitment gets broken into the weeks it will actually be worked — which surfaces the honest conversation about capacity while there is still time to do something about it. Then each week gets marked as it happens.

The rhythm

What the thirteen weeks look like.

The schedule only earns its keep if something touches it weekly. This is the cadence we build into every setup.

Under the hood

Four small decisions that make execution stick.

01

One owner, always a person

Not a department, not two names, not ‘the team’. If a commitment cannot survive being owned by one named human, it is not a commitment yet — it is a hope.

02

Definition of done, written at planning time

Written while everyone is optimistic and unhurried, not argued about in week twelve when it is expensive. This one field kills most end-of-quarter disputes.

03

Due week, not due date

A week is honest about how work actually lands and it fits the planning horizon. Precise dates invite false precision and then quiet slippage.

04

Marks accumulate into a record

Thirteen weeks of marks is a picture of effort, not just outcome. When a commitment fails, you can see whether it was never worked or worked and blocked — two completely different coaching conversations.

FAQ

About execution.

Is this a project management tool?

No, and deliberately so. There are no dependencies, gantt charts or story points. It holds the handful of things that define the quarter, at the altitude an owner actually thinks about them.

Do clients really update it weekly?

The ones with a coach asking about it do. The tool makes the update take about ninety seconds; you supply the accountability. That combination is what works — neither half does on its own.

Can I see progress without asking?

Per client, yes, in their plan. Across every client on one screen is the Coach Dashboard, which founding partners are speccing with us now.
